Beware of fine print

See the picture. It will give you an idea about the font size of standard terms and conditions in the written contracts we execute (knowingly or otherwise) on a daily basis.

Be it shopping, air ticket, accessing a website, appl or anything … there are so many conditions, you don’t bother to read it because you are in a hurry to conclude the transaction.

You may also watch the speed of words in any gaming or investment ad you could be watching on tv. The idea is just to be done with the formality of informing you.

If you have any issues with the performance of the contract, the other party will refer to this fine print.

Therefore, do not take the so called ‘standard’ terms and conditions of any contract lightly. If the time permits, the stakes are high and you can afford reading it, read it completely at least to be aware of your rights and obligations.

Risk is inevitable in every dealing. However, it is better to be aware of the risk, implications and complications in any of your actions.

So, the next time, read the fine print – you may be ignoring it as your own risk.
